Season 4, Episode 29: Killer on the Run Original Air Date—1959 Les Curtis commits a murder to steal two counterfeit currency plates, then commits another while swindling the intended buyers out of $20,000. Appearing to be an innocuous insurance agent with a briefcase, he is able to hitch a ride with two middle-aged women. The ladies are unaware that the "nice young man" is a double murderer who is being hotly pursued by the Highway Patrol AND by a vengeful victim of his swindle.

Season 4, Episode 30: Prisoner Exchange Copter Original Air Date—1959 Racketeer Jack Avery is stopped for speeding and detained by Sheriff Melton in the small town of Hartsdale. Determined to avoid extradition on a murder charge, he directs henchman Rick Herron to abduct the sheriff's wife Helen and offer to swap Helen's release for Avery's. Dan Mathews advises the sheriff to release Avery so that he can be followed using the Highway Patrol helicopter. Avery and Herron conceal their cars in a cave in a very remote area. They plan to escape later under cover of night, but Dan orders the helicopter pilot to cut the motors, sweep down, and blow dust into the cave so that he and Sergeant Williams can enter undetected for an attempt to capture the felons and rescue Helen Melton.

Season 4, Episode 31: Dan Hostage Original Air Date—4 May 1959 Dan Mathews offers himself as a hostage after a nervous gunman botches a diner robbery and critically wounds the proprietor.

Season 4, Episode 32: Women Escapees Original Air Date—1959 Convicted murderers Lita Morgan and Caroline Craig make an unplanned escape from Rendell State Prison when a guard suffers a heart attack. They stop (and kill) a passing motorist and are able to use his car to get into a nearby town to steal clothes, money, and guns. They abandon the car and hijack a bus in a rural area in order to get through a Highway Patrol roadblock, but Dan Mathews and Sergeant Williams are suspicious of the bus's apparent paucity of passengers and follow it. The two women abandon the bus and make a desperate bid for freedom by separating, but they are physically and psychologically unable to cope with the rough terrain and the Highway Patrol's relentless pursuit.

Season 4, Episode 33: Auto Press Original Air Date—18 May 1959 The perpetrator of a robbery and murder attempts to dispose of the getaway car by convincing his brother to crush it beyond recognition in a large hydraulic press.

Season 4, Episode 34: Express Delivery Original Air Date—1959 A thief abducts a gem courier and uses his identification in an attempt to steal a jewel collection worth $200,000.

Season 4, Episode 35: Desperate Men Original Air Date—1 June 1959 Two fugitives get into the boiler room of a hospital and threaten to destroy the building by tying down the safety valve if they are not permitted to go free.

Season 4, Episode 36: Confession Original Air Date—1959 Paul Jordan is killed in broad daylight by his three accomplices in a bank robbery that resulted in the theft of $100,000. Jordan manages to kill one of the attackers, but the two survivors of the gun battle (Joe and Blake) deduce that his widow Gloria will know the money's whereabouts. Dan Mathews and Sergeant Williams come to the same conclusion and stake out Gloria Jordan's farm. Gloria attempts to flee to Chicago after mailing the money to her destination, but Joe intercepts her. She is treated roughly until Dan Mathews and Sergeant Williams utilize the element of surprise to capture the three and confirm that the package they recovered from Gloria's mailbox contains the stolen money.

Season 4, Episode 37: Detour to Death Original Air Date—15 June 1959 Two men and a woman use phony police uniforms and a fake detour sign to lure potential victims into concealed areas.

Season 4, Episode 38: Fire Original Air Date—1959 Pyromaniac Judd Patterson sets a warehouse ablaze and gets away in a stolen car. He abandons the car and hitches a ride with farmer Claude Norpel, who offers him temporary employment as a hired hand. An arson investigator gives Patterson's name as a possible suspect, and Dan Mathews and Sergeant Williams trace him to Norpel's farm. However, they arrive after he has already assaulted Norpel, knocked him unconscious, and is about to set the barn ablaze with Norpel still in it. Sergeant Williams distracts Patterson while Dan Mathews overpowers him, but the barn is set afire in the scuffle. The two Highway Patrol officers have only seconds to rescue Norpel and extinguish the blaze.

Season 4, Episode 39: Bank Messenger Original Air Date—29 June 1959 A husband and wife team rob couriers with large amounts of cash, then kill them so that there will be no witnesses.
